Field Sales Manager

Company: Respondyr Independent contractor (1099) Player-coach, every US metro Flexible schedule

Job overview

We are looking for a player-coach: a proven door-to-door closer who has also recruited, trained, and held a team accountable, and wants to own the book that comes from doing it again. You carry your own patch at a manager's rate, higher than the reps you recruit, and on top of that you build your own team of closers and earn an override on everything their books collect.

The straight version: this is not a salaried desk, and we're not handing you a team. You bring your own pipeline of people. If you've run teams in satellite, solar, pest, or alarm, you already know this model. The difference here is what's being sold: a monthly subscription the business keeps paying, so your override compounds instead of resetting every season.

Why Respondyr sells (what your reps walk in with)

Respondyr answers every Google review a business gets, same day, in the owner's voice, tracks where they rank in local search on a map, flags policy-violating reviews for removal, and helps them collect more reviews. The buyer is a local business owner, the close is a live demo at the counter, and the owner decides on the spot. Every business with a Google listing is a potential customer, which means your reps never run out of doors.

Compensation: a manager's rate plus the override

  • Your own book pays at a manager's rate: $500 a week guaranteed until your residual commissions ramp past it (about $2,000 a month), then 30% recurring on collected revenue for accounts you source, 20% on company leads, for the life of every account. That is five points above what the reps you recruit earn, on the same doors.
  • 5% override on your recruits. Every dollar collected by the book of every rep you personally recruit pays you 5%, every month, for as long as those accounts stay.
  • Only your recruits. The override never applies to reps you didn't bring in, which means nobody can hand you a dead team and nobody can take a producing one away.

Key responsibilities

  • Sell: carry your own patch and close your own accounts; the best recruiting pitch is your own book
  • Recruit: source closers from your own network: old teammates, summer program alumni, reps from your last shop
  • Train: teach the counter demo, objection handling, and honest pipeline discipline
  • Run the team: coordinate territory so your reps aren't working the same doors, coach them against their own numbers, and spot in week one the rep who will never close

Qualifications and requirements

  • Proven team leadership: you've recruited, trained, and run door-to-door reps before, and you can show it with numbers: reps hired, team production, retention
  • Your own pipeline of people: the job is building the team, not inheriting one
  • Required equipment: reliable laptop, smartphone, and a way to get around your metro
  • Self-managed: you set the schedule for yourself and your team; production is what we judge
