AI Review Responses With Owner Approval | Respondyr Skip to main content

Features / Review responses

Automated Google review responses, in your voice. You hold the pen.

Respondyr drafts a response to every written Google review in your voice, then does exactly what you told it to do for that star rating: post it, hold it for your approval, escalate it for your personal attention, or leave it alone. You set the rule per star, one through five. Included on every plan, in 2026 and always.

How the response gates work

Each star rating gets one of four actions:

  • Auto-post: the response publishes on its own. Available for any rating, down to one star.
  • Require approval: a draft waits for you. Approve, edit, regenerate, or reject.
  • Escalate: no draft at all. The review is flagged for your personal attention, which is the setting we recommend for 1 and 2 star reviews.
  • Do nothing: Respondyr stays out of it for that rating.

Each gate has its own email and text notification toggles. Turning on auto-post for 1 to 3 star reviews asks for an explicit acknowledgment first, recorded with a timestamp. Publishing to an unhappy customer without reading their words is a real decision, and we make you make it.

Why responses wait an hour or two

Auto-posted responses are held one to two hours with randomized pacing before they publish. An instant reply to every review reads as a bot, to customers and to Google. Respondyr paces replies the way a busy owner actually answers.

Brand Soul: the voice is yours, literally

You answer three questions in plain English: who you are and how the business started, who you serve and what they want from you, and how you sound when something goes wrong. The AI takes those answers on as its own identity. It is not following a style checklist about a third party; it is speaking as the business. That difference is why the responses do not read like a vendor wrote them.

Around the soul sit guardrails: the AI never invents facts you did not give it, never promises refunds or operational changes, never recites the star rating back, and never quotes an angry reviewer's words back at them. Legal and healthcare practices get dedicated modes that keep responses appropriately careful. That is a product quality feature, not a compliance service.

Test your voice before anyone hears it

On the Brand page, type a sample review you made up, pick a rating, and generate a preview of exactly what would be written under your current settings. Change the tone, run it again, compare. Nothing posts. When a real review needs your approval, you can also approve or edit it by text message: the alert includes the review, the draft, and a link to act from your phone.

What we deliberately do not do

  • Rating-only reviews with no text never get an AI draft, on any plan. A profile full of near-identical "thanks for the five stars" replies reads as a bot, because it is one.
  • No response publishes outside the rules you set, and changing a rule never retroactively posts to your old backlog.
  • The AI never commits your business to anything: no refunds, no callbacks, no policy changes it invented.

Common questions

Can Respondyr auto-post responses to 1-star reviews?

Yes, if you choose to. Every star rating has its own gate, and auto-post is available all the way down to one star. Turning on auto-post for 1 to 3 star reviews requires an explicit acknowledgment first, because publishing to unhappy customers without reading their review is a decision you should make on purpose.

Do responses post instantly?

No. Auto-posted responses wait one to two hours with randomized pacing, so replies land the way a busy owner would actually write them, not the second a review arrives.

What is Brand Soul?

Three plain-English questions about your business: who you are and how it started, who you serve and what they want, and how you sound when something goes wrong. The AI reads your answers as its own identity, not as instructions about someone else, which is why responses sound like you.

Can I try the voice before anything goes public?

Yes. Type a made-up sample review, pick a star rating, and generate a preview of exactly what the AI would write under your current settings. Nothing posts and no real review is touched.
