Founding Account Executive
Franchise & multi-location sales
Company: Respondyr Full-time employee (W-2) Remote, United States
Build sales with the founder
Respondyr is a self-funded startup helping businesses manage their Google reviews, track their local presence, and capture website leads with Webchat. We are hiring one founding account executive to build our franchise and multi-location business: find the right buyers, win the first deployment, and grow the account as more locations come on board.
You will work directly with Travis, the founder, from discovery through pilots and closes. This is a hands-on selling role with room to help hire, coach, and lead a sales team as the business grows. Your work will shape which customers we serve and how we sell to them.
Compensation: ongoing base plus recurring commission
- $70,000 annual base salary. The base continues after your six-month ramp. It is not a draw against commissions.
- Healthy recurring commissions for the first year. Earn commission on eligible subscription revenue actually collected for each attributed location’s first 12 paid months.
- Reduced residual commissions afterward. Continue earning on eligible collected revenue while responsible for the account under the written commission plan.
- Expansion earns the first-year rate. Each new location you bring live starts its own 12-month period at the applicable first-year rate under the written commission plan.
Commission rates, attribution, payment timing, account responsibilities, and what happens if you leave will be spelled out in the written commission plan before you accept an offer.
Benefits
We are evaluating health insurance and 401(k) options. No plan or employer contribution is currently committed. We will confirm the benefits package before you accept an offer.
What you will sell
Your buyers are franchisors, franchisee groups, and multi-location operators. Respondyr helps them manage their public reputation and turn website conversations into leads:
- Consistent review responses: replies in the brand’s voice, with oversight and approval routing for sensitive reviews
- Local visibility: map-based rank tracking so teams can see how their locations appear in local search
- Customer feedback teams can use: reporting and routed signals that help the right person see recurring complaints
- Webchat: an AI website assistant that captures a visitor’s name, number, and request before the conversation starts, answers from business-approved knowledge, and alerts the team to follow up. Staff can watch conversations live and take over when needed.
- Respondyr Answers, where it fits: an add-on that drafts inbox replies grounded in the customer’s documents, with human approval
Start with the buyer’s current process, demonstrate the relevant workflow, and agree what a successful pilot should accomplish. A rollout grows from demonstrated value at the participating locations.
What you will own
- Prospecting: build and work a focused account list using introductions, calls, email, and industry relationships
- Discovery: identify the operating problem, budget owner, buying process, and who can authorize each location’s participation
- Pilots and closes: demonstrate the product, scope paid pilots, agree success measures and rollout terms, and guide the purchase
- Account growth: stay involved with your customers, coordinate escalations, and bring additional locations live
- A repeatable sales process: keep clear pipeline records, dated next steps, and lessons the next seller can use
Your first six months
Start by learning the product alongside the founder, choosing an initial customer segment, and building a focused pipeline. Progress into paid pilots with agreed decision dates, then work toward retained accounts and broader deployments. We will review progress together each month against the buying process and commitments in each opportunity.
The founder supports product questions, demos, pilots, and closes. You bring the prospecting discipline and follow-through. The six-month ramp gives us a clear period to build and assess the sales process; your base salary continues afterward.
What you bring
- Relevant B2B sales experience: you have sold software or services to franchise or multi-location buyers and can explain your role in winning the business
- The ability to create pipeline: you can source opportunities and move them forward without an established inbound engine
- An understanding of the buyer: you know how purchasing authority differs between a franchisor, a franchisee group, and a corporate operator
- Ownership of the full sale: you are comfortable with discovery, demonstrations, pilots, negotiation, and account expansion
- Commitment to building: you want a full-time role at an early-stage company and can work closely with the founder as we learn what sells
